European students to learn Azeri
Students from Turkey, Italy, Spain, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Denmark, Georgia, Finland and Estonia will study Azeri within the framework of a two-week language course, organized by the European Students Forum, or AEGEE-Baku, Trend News Agency reported yesterday. The course aims to develop closer communication and cooperation between Azerbaijani and European students.

Parliament speaker meets Kaşifoğlu
Erol Kaşifoglu, president of the Solidarity Association of Western Thrace, and an accompanying delegation met Parliament Speaker Köksal Toptan late Tuesday. "Our kinsmen in Western Thrace are a bridge between Turkey and Greece in thinking and working together rather than a problem that separates the two countries," Toptan said after the meeting.

Turkish battalion command in Kosovo changes hands
The command of the Turkish battalion, serving as part of the NATO Kosovo Force, or KFOR, changed hands at a ceremony held in the city of Prizren yesterday. The battalion's command, which is part of the multinational task force deployed in the southern part of Kosovo, was delegated to Lt. Col. Nail Yiğit.
