Turkish June capacity usage falls to 82.3 pct Turkish manufacturing capacity utilisation fell 1.2 percentage points year-on-year in June to 82.3 percent, the Turkish Statistics Institute (TURKSTAT) said on Thursday.

Capacity utilisation, a leading indictator of manufacturing industry and economic growth, was 82.4 percent in May.
Weak domestic demand was the main reason cited by nearly 5,000 businesses surveyed for low capacity utilisation.
Businesses said they expect their production volume to edge up 2.3 percent in July, the survey showed, despite a global credit crunch, political uncertainties and rising interest rates.
Inadequate raw materials, financial difficulties, energy shortages and labour disputes were also cited as factors limiting capacity utilisation.
Turkey's economy grew 6.6 percent in the first quarter, surpassing expectations, but economists expect growth to slow down later this year.
