'Rubbish' golfer hits hole-in-one
Mr Errington does not think he will ever repeat the shot
A self-confessed "rubbish" golfer won a £15,000 car after fluking a hole-in-one.
Occasional golfer Allan Errington, 43, was averaging seven shots a hole while playing at a staff event.
But he hit a perfect shot on the par three 9th hole and it bounced once before going in - earning himself a Volkswagen Golf.
Mr Errington, of Aberdeen, said he lost 23 balls during the rest of his round at Newmachar Golf Club.
Mr Errington, originally from Peterlee, County Durham, told the BBC Scotland news website: "It's quite embarrassing. I have only played golf about 15 times, my clubs are pretty basic - and I had to borrow a putter.
"I had hit seven on each hole until the 7th, then a six and an eight, so was still averaging seven.
"I got to the 9th and said I may as well use my seven iron as everything else was seven."
Mr Errington recalled: "I hit the ball and I knew it was good and I saw it go in. It was a fantastic feeling. I lost all my other 23 balls."
Operations manager Mr Errington was taking part in the event with his facilities management firm Sodexo.
He said his wife would be driving the new car.
