It was a weekend to remember for Ülkan Delikan: As a rider, he won the Atatürk Cup, and as a businessman, his company Parkur Organization successfully organized the most important equestrian tournament in the country.
Delikan, riding his horse Ginsternoir, won the 43rd Atatürk Cup at Istanbul's Atlı Spor Club facilities Sunday, while also taking third place with his other horse, Quattros. Last year's winner Sencer Can was the runner up with Dejavu.
Before the Atatürk Cup, the 35th İnönü Cup, named after the second president of the Turkish Republic, took place. Güneş Sarmat on Centurio won the race of juniors aged between 14 and 18. Atahan Deliormanlı came second with Chloe and Dilara Yurttutan on Judika was third.
Younger riders 12 to 14 years of age competed in the Turkey Sports Journalists Association, or TSYD, Cup. Ömer Ersin took first and second place with two separate horses.
