ATHENS - Agence France - Presse
A fire broke out in the Turkish Consulate in the northeastern Greek city of Komotini Monday night, causing minor damage to a second-floor office before being extinguished, the fire department said.
There were no reports of injuries at the consulate, which was closed at the time, a fire department press officer told Agence France-Presse.
Two fire engines with four firemen were dispatched to the scene.
"There was a fire in a small office on the second floor of the building but it was quickly extinguished," the press officer said.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
The town of Komotini is situated in a region of Greece that hosts most of the country's Muslim minority of Turkish origin, which numbers around 100,000.
