Turkish celebrities have mobilized to create a promotional film to be released today depicting the plight of refugees, an ongoing tragedy all over the world. Prominent comic director Sinan Çetin has volunteered to be the director of the film. Metin Çorabatır, a spokesperson for the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, said the theme for this year's film is the protection of refugees. Singer Muazzez Ersoy; TV producer Çiğdem Anat; musicians and artists Serra Yılmaz and Derya Durmaz; Ayça Damgacı, selected as the best female artist at both the Istanbul and Altın Koza Film Festivals; photographer Ara Güler; singer Aydilge Sarp; and national football player İbrahim Toraman have all taken on roles in the ***** which was shot by Çetin free of charge. Mayor of the Etimesgut district of Ankara, Serhat Kemal Yılmaz, also appeared in the film. Yılmaz Erdoğan, who supported the project, was not able to participate due to health problems. Çorabatır said the project's aim was to remind people of a fundamental and humane duty to protect victims of war and persecution. �We are thankful to Sinan Çetin, his assistant, Adil Oğuz, and to all our celebrities that took part in the films. In spite of their busy programs, they accepted to execute such a project without expecting any profit,� he said. In compliance with Article 13 of the Regulation of Radio and TV Broadcasting Principals and Procedure, TV channels will broadcast the film as a spot for the public interest.
