Turkey to host 2011 NATO meeting
Turkish Air Forces Commander Gen. Aydoğan Babaoğlu attended a NATO meeting of European countries' air forces commanders in Hungary on Friday. Babaoğlu told the Anatolia news agency that the meeting would be held in Turkey in 2011, the 100th anniversary of the Turkish aviation sector.

Mutiny in Croatia leaves Turkish tourists stranded
A staff mutiny over unpaid salaries left some 200 Turkish cruise-ship vacationers stranded in the Croatian port of Split on Thursday. The 10-man crew of mostly Croatian sailors took action against its Turkish employer due to two months of unpaid salaries. The tourists flew back to Turkey that evening, two days earlier than scheduled.

Turkish Festival to be held in New York
The Turkish Cultural Center New York will hold a Turkey Festival in Central Park on Aug. 24. After the opening ceremony, an Ottoman band will perform. Displays, artwork, Turkish folk dance and Turkish shadow theater, are also on the agenda of the festival, which will be free of charge. The center will also hold a Turkish movies weekend Aug. 19-21.
