Turkey's Mass Housing Administration, or TOKİ, has put up for sale the land that borders the controversial Ataköy land.
There is no land in Istanbul as beautiful as this land. We expect that companies will show great interest in the tender, said TOKİ head Erdoğan Bayraktar of the 125,000-square-meter area of land, which was put up for sale at an estimated value of YTL 650 million. The land is located between Ataköy Mansions and the Marmara Sea. The auction for the land will take place Sept. 23.
The price-per-square-meter of the land is YTL 5,200 on the basis of this estimated value. However, 68,000 square meters of the land has to be used as green areas, meaning construction is forbidden on this portion. The price-per-square-meter rises to YTL 11,400 in line with this restriction. The buyer of the land will have the right to build hotels, apart-hotels, casinos, marinas, yacht clubs, restaurants, shopping centers, congress centers, fuel stations and sports/entertainment centers on the land.
We have cleaned the land totally. There is no problem regarding the construction plan of the land. We expect that the tender will attract the attention of both local and foreign investors, said Bayraktar.
Following its decision to cancel the sale of the Ataköy land for the second time. Denizciler Ataköy Tourism Construction A.Ş., or DATİ, has the usage rights to the Ataköy land until 2038. Bayraktar also said that he would make a statement regarding the cancellation of the tender on the Ataköy land at a later date.
