Austria opens new kidnap inquiry
Wolfgang Priklopil threw himself under a train
Austrian investigators are reopening an inquiry into whether the man who held a girl captive for eight years had help.
Natascha Kampusch was abducted at the age of 10 and held in a basement cell before escaping at the age of 18 in August 2006.
Her abductor Wolfgang Priklopil, 44, threw himself under a train as soon as he realised she had fled.
She said she welcomed the new inquiry, though added that she did not know of anyone else being involved.
Austrian police have been criticised for failing to follow up leads after Ms Kampusch's abduction in 1998 - including the testimony of a schoolgirl who said she saw a girl being bundled into a white truck with two men in it.
Natascha Kampusch has become a talk-show host
"The issue now is whether there was more than one kidnapper, [based on] indications from the Kampusch investigative report," Justice Ministry spokesman Thomas Geiblinger said.
Ms Kampusch's story gripped Austria. Now 20, she has become the host of her own television show, which begain earlier this year.
