Turkish war planes bombed the terror organization PKK targets in northern Iraq, the head of Iraq's border guards in Dahuk told Reuters. (UPDATED)
The PKK terrorists use northern Iraq as a base for launching attacks in Turkey.
Head of the Dahuk border guards Colonel Hussein Tamor said no civilians were hurt because the area was unpopulated.
Tamor added he did not know about any PKK terrorist casualties.
Turkey, provided with intelligence by the United States, stepped up its campaign to crackdown on the PKK both inside Turkey and in northern Iraq, after the terror organization increased its attacks on Turkish soldiers, as well as civilians.
The PKK is listed as a terrorist group by Ankara and much of the international community, including the EU and the United States.
