ISTANBUL - Trabzonspor welcomed Faty Papy, while Fenerbahçe started talks with Gökhan Emreciksin in a busy day for Turkcell Super League transfers.

Searching for an attacking midfielder to strengthen its squad, Trabzonspor brought Burundian player Papy to town. The 18-year-old Burundi international will attend training sessions and at the end of the trial period, coach Ersun Yanal will decide on the player’s future at the club.

Gökhan Emreciksin’s possible move to Fenerbahçe is less cloudy. The Yellow Canaries have agreed with Ankaragücü on terms and have started contract talks with the young midfielder, the daily Hürriyet reported yesterday.

Since March 2008, the 24-year-old midfielder has been occasionally selected to play for the Turkish national football team.

If the contract is concluded, Emreciksin will be officially signed on, on Jan. 5, when the next transfer window opens.

Meanwhile, Gençlerbirliği signed Australian international Mile Jedinak for 2.5 seasons.
