LONDON - Rolls-Royce, the British maker of engines, said Tuesday it had won a contract from Russian gas giant Gazprom to supply pumping equipment for the Nord Stream pipeline linking Russia with western Europe.

"Rolls-Royce has been awarded a contract from Gazkomplectimpex, a subsidiary of Gazprom É for the new 1,200 kilometer (890 miles) Nord Stream gas pipeline from Russia to Europe," the British company said.
