Daylight savings will begin in Turkey at the end of March, the government spokesman said on Monday.

Turkey would launch the daylight savings on March 29, Cemil Cicek, government spokesman and Deputy Prime Minister, told reporters after the cabinet meeting in the Turkish capital of Ankara.
Clocks will wind forward an hour at 3 a.m. on Sunday, March 29, also the date when Turkey is scheduled to hold its local elections.
Daylight savings will continue through to Oct. 25.
