Talking in his office on Wednesday, Civan said since the day he took office there have been some important projects developing and the project of Hacı Bayram, in the Ulus district, to fix the transport and traffic is one of the important works that has been carried out.

"The capital’s transportation and traffic problems are different troubles. The solution to the traffic problem lies in building railway systems in big cities such as Ankara, Istanbul and İzmir," he said.

Civan said the crossroad project kicked off by Ankara Mayor Melih Gökçek are necessary for Ankara. He said the secretariat does not agree with reports that say the traffic problems cannot be solved by building under- and overpasses.

The metro construction has been going on in various districts in Ankara such as Batıkent, Sincan and Çayyolu. "Ankara’s transportation problems will be solved within two years’ time," Civan said.
