Late night city dog walker shot

The man is being treated at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary

Police in Edinburgh have launched an inquiry after a 40-year-old man was shot in the early hours.
The man, who was walking his dog about 0040 BST in the Paisley Drive area of the city, raised the alarm himself.
He is not thought to be suffering life-threatening injuries and is being treated in Edinburgh Royal Infirmary.
Detectives, who are carrying out house-to-house inquiries in the area, have appealed for witnesses or other dog walkers to come forward.
Det Insp George Thomson: "Even at that time of the morning, there are usually a number of people out walking their dogs and I would appeal to anyone who was in the area and who saw or heard anything out of the ordinary to get in touch with us."
A detailed forensic search of the scene is under way.
Police added that a section of Paisley Drive was closed and access to Parsons Green Primary School was restricted. All vehicles will be turned back at MeadowfieLd Drive.
