Turkey's Chief EU Negotiator & State Minister Egemen Bağış rebuked the opposition which labeled government's "democratic move" as treason and said all their efforts targeted stopping the bloodshed and establishing peace.

Bağış who spoke to reporters Sunday on the government's "democratic move" drafted to deal with the Kurdish issue, said their plan would give an end to the trouble of terrorism and polarization in the society.
Bağış said this was an important peace project for Turkey, carried out within the legal framework incorporating all legal organs, political parties, chambers, think-tank organizations, and called on all parties to contribute to the process.

He said the citizens started to grasp that there was a government that cared about the troubles of its people, and started to esteem those who built bridges, infrastructure, schools and hospitals to their villages rather than those who exploited their ethnic identities.
